Thurman Scale has once again met customer needs with the 8765 rocker column Railroad Track Scale. This fully electronic rail scale utilizes hermetically sealed rocker column load cells and a modular I-beam-and-steel deck design to provide a high strength design with a low-profile approach. The modular design facilitates ease in the installation process, as well as access to all electronics without the restrictions of a cumbersome pit.
The new 8765 Rail Scale incorporates an above ground design with rocker column load cells for unmatched accuracy and precision. The 8765 comes standard with the industry leading features of Intalogix® Technology. The modular steel deck construction comes standard in 12’-6” and 25’ lengths and in any configuration of the two. The low-profile design focused on eliminating costly pit construction. With an end wall height of only 1’- 6 1/2” and easy access to load cells and electronics, the 8765 Rail Scale has eliminated the need for pit construction yet is still pit-friendly when applicable.
The 8765 design has the rails riding on the main girders rather than on cross members that have unsupported rail between them. This results in a more rugged design and gives the customer an added comfort level. The modular style decks are fully covered with steel plates for safety and to ensure load cells and electronics are protected. All modules come pre-drilled for 115 lb live-rail installation.
With its rugged weighbridge, Intalogix® Technology, and rocker column load cell design, the 8765 Rail Scale assures the accuracy, dependability, and long service you expect from Thurman Scale.
Easy Installation
The 8765 Rail Scale was specifically designed to combat high pit installation costs yet maintain standard rail scale configurations. This gives the customer the flexibility of various module placement with the added feature of reduced foundation costs. As a result of its above ground installation, maintenance is minimized, and precious track time is rarely interrupted. This translates into money saved!! We are all familiar with costly environmental and safety regulations.
Because there are no confined spaces with above ground foundation, compliance with OSHA regulations regarding confined spaces is not an issue. With the 8765 Rail Scale, installation is rapid and simple, allowing you to get into weighing mode fast. Weighbridge sections arrive assembled and are ready to set on load cells.
Sized to Your Needs
The 8765 is built on 12’6” modules for single draft, dual draft, or any combination you need. Each scale is perfectly sized for a full axle set. Dead spans can be configured to any length needed.
Reduced down time and minimizing service costs
The all-welded, modular design of the 8765 Rail Scale weighbridge makes it extremely durable in any environment. This increases the life of the scale and minimizes down time. With the above ground rocker column design servicing all electronic parts is a quick and easy operation. With a traditional pit-style rail scale, service calls for rail scales can require at least two technicians per pit due to safety regulations. With the above ground design, often there is no need for more than one technician to make standard service calls. This can potentially save you money.
Site conditions have potential costly expenses
Rather than wrestling with sump pumps that are struggling to keep up with the ground water that is constantly seeping in from the surrounding earth, don’t bother with it. The 8765 Rail Scale only requires minimal groundwork for foundation preparation, and because of its above ground design, the depth of the site water table is almost never a factor. This not only eliminates the possibilities of costly construction delays due to water intrusion, or underground obstacles found during excavation, it also makes routine maintenance much simpler.
Must have advantages of a fully electronic scale
For those already familiar with Intalogix Technology, the benefits speak for themselves. From real time diagnostics and ease in calibration, to the accuracy and precision offered by Thurman, these are just a few characteristics that the fully electronic 8765 Rail Scale possess. Being able to diagnostically isolate load cells, sections, and even modules proves to be extremely valuable when calibrating, troubleshooting or testing a scale. If unforeseen down time is a concern to the customer, the combination of Intalogix Technology and a fully electronic scale provides a comfort level to you, the customer.
Options
To provide the most flexibility in the 8765 Rail Scale line, we have several options that can be added out of the catalog to build the exact project you need.
• Anti-creep device kit (includes anti-creep for both live and dead rail sides).
• Live rail hardware kit (to secure rail to the main beams).
• Approach kit (to secure rail to the approaches).
• Dead Span hardware kit (embedded hardware to secure rail to dead spans).
• Gap cover kits (for shallow pit foundations to cover outside gaps).
Note, the 8765 replaces the previous generation 8760 Rail Scale
