The 500RF fishing tournament weigh-in scale features an easy to use weight indicator along with the "industrial" style weighing platform which includes four adjustable feet and single point load cell. The AC/Battery powered scale includes a 60 pound capacity with custom Tournament Fish Weighing Lock "motion hold" Software built in. This system is primarily designed for tournaments that have a tight budget and the quality of a NTEP legal for trade system. Operates on (4) AA batteries or included AC adapter
The 500RF system includes a 12" x 14" industrial style scale platform with adjustable feet and high quality single point load cell perfect for tournament fishing conditions. The system also includes an easy to read LCD digital indicator that can display weight in lbs or kg. The indicator can be placed up to about 6' away from the platform. The stainless steel weigh table is big enough to accommodate buckets, totes, or any other weighing container. The scale is factory calibrated and has optional remote display available. Scale platform can get some water on it. The digital weight indicator is not washdown safe.
The 500RF Series features a RS-232 serial interface that can send weight data to a remote display. This feature allows a large remote display to be attached for tournament crowds.
The 500RF features a 12" x 14" platform which allows for easy weighing. Please keep in mind, the 500RF series is a low cost, yet versatile and relatively portable scale. Please note this scale readout is not wash down safe. But, if you're looking for a good quality basic digital scale, battery power, hold function, remote platform with adjustable feet, serial port... etc... all at a good price, this is the scale for you.
Customers often ask about the term washdown and can the scale get wet? With the 500RF, the answer is the weight indicator can not get wet. It is not designed for that. The scale platform can get some water on it and it should not cause any issues. You can not submerge the scale platform in water. It is best to make sure the load cell located inside of the scale platform does not get wet.

Is this scale washdown? The weight indicator is not. If water resistance is really important to your application, we suggest you take a look at some of our "waterproof" stainless steel bench scales which feature some IP69K rated enclosures. The 500RF scale platform is a painted steel weighing platform with stainless steel cover. This should work well for any basic weighing that you might do at a fishing tournament.
Does this scale display weight in lb:oz? No
If I place an order, how long before I receive the scale? These scales normally ship from NC within 3-4 business days after the order is placed.
Does the scale have a hold function? Yes the scale has a hold function. You can choose to use that function or not. It's best to let us know when ordering if you want the hold function turned on or off so we can do that while we are setting the scale up.
Is this scale NTEP certified? Both the weight indicator and the scale base have earned NTEP certificate of conformance numbers.
Where is this scale made? Overseas, either Taiwan or China, depending on availability.
What makes this scale a good choice? The 500RF scale system features a better scale platform than the Sportsman. It features adjustable feet and better overall construction. This scale is a good overall choice for most bass fishing clubs. It really comes down to what features you want or need and what your club's budget is going to be for the set of scales.
