The price of mild steel used in the manufacture of Pennsylvania M6600 Floor Scales rose considerably in 2008. It is difficult in a world market where steel demand drives up the price of the Pennsylvania “Made in the USA” floor scales and meanwhile inferior “no name” products are dumped in the market, putting enormous price pressure on everyone as well. For example, the steel structural extrusion material that is used in the most popular 48″ x 48″ Pennsylvania floor scale designs has DOUBLED in cost since January 2008 — and they use 16′ of it in each and every 4×4 scale. Merry Christmas!

Since everyone is so afraid to say it this year, I figured I would title the entry Merry Christmas.  Oh, I said it again.  I hope I don’t offend anyone.  Who am I kidding?  I hope that I do offend some people.  This idea that we can only say Happy Holidays is stupid.  Plain and simple stupid.  If you don’t celebrate Christmas, fine.  Don’t. It has almost become comical when we stop and take a few moments to look around the internet at all the different floor scales that are available. Sometimes, it is even funnier when we notice all the floor scale “experts” positioned throughout the internet that are selling the floor scales. It’s really unbelievable.  It’s as if floor scales are posted on websites like burgers are listed on restaurant menus.  However, as some of you know, not every burger is the same.  Same holds true for floor scales.  Quality matters.

Let me guess your age, birth month, or your weight

Many people go and visit their State Fair this time of year.  I’m no exception.  What a fun way to spend a day.  When you do go and visit, you probably will notice the many displays set up who will guess your weight, your birth month or your age.  Seems like they are located on every corner.  They guess wrong and you win a prize.  What scale do they normally have beside them?

Usually, it is an old mechanical dial scale.  These days, not too many of those old mechanical dial scales are available.  However, we do have these portable digital platform scales which are similar.

We have an affordable NTEP 4×4 5000 lb capacity floor scale that is available. This i series scale features a painted mild steel deck w/ tread plate top. The four load cell feet are adjustable and the junction box is a cast aluminum with adjustable summing card.
